Thanks for visiting the Queen’s Emergency Medicine website! As the Chief Residents of the Queen’s EM program we would love to tell you a bit about what we have going on here in Kingston.
Queen’s University had one of the first EM residency programs in Canada and has continued to have a strong presence in the field ever since. We may be biased but our EM crew is one of the best! With 4 residents a year we have enough residents to throw a good party but a small enough group that everyone gets to know one another quickly. It is a tight knit and supportive environment that fosters early independence and great working relationships with our staff.
Our program director, Dr Jaelyn Caudle has been enormously supportive to the residents and has really allowed the Chiefs to use our fellowship year to follow our passions.
Kingston is an amazing place to do your residency. Most of our residents live within walking distance to the hospital as well as downtown, restaurants and the grocery store. The simplicity of not worrying about parking or commuting cannot be overstated! Kingston has great access to watersports, biking and running trails and is still conveniently located less than 3 hours from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
There is MUCH that we didn’t get to cover here so if you have any questions whatsoever please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you!
Yours in Emergency Medicine,
Queen’s EM Chief Residents
