Dr. Newbigging joined the group in 2006 after working several years in the community Emergency Medicine setting. He has been a long-time Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) enthusiast and has been teaching POCUS to residents and clinicians for over ten years. He officially completed an Ultrasound Fellowship with the Ultrasound Leadership Academy in 2015. His academic interests are in Medical Education and POCUS. He became Queen’s CFPC(EM) Program Director in 2016. He lives in Kingston with his wife, Andrea, and sons Owen and Simon. They enjoy outdoor adventures and travelling to awesome places around the world.
