The Department is proud to be the home of a bright and energetic faculty who benefit from the experience and wisdom of some of Canada's first Emergency Medicine specialists. The high calibre faculty members provide academic and clinical expertise in the areas of hospital care, toxicology, resuscitation, simulation, ultrasound and medical education. The research program within the Department supports an active group of primary and collaborative investigators, and is slated to grow year over year.
Hosting both FRCP and CCCFP-EM residency programs, the Department of Emergency Medicine residency programs are among the most comprehensive and broad based teaching programs in the country. A product of this outstanding education allows for graduates who are outstanding clinicians, educators and researchers in the field of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, faculty members are actively involved, and extremely productive, in undergraduate medical education at Queen's University and eagerly welcome and support medical students from other universities for clerkship electives in Emergency Medicine.
