Dr. Chakraborty is an adjunct staff and assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Amar started his residency journey in Internal Medicine, but transferred into Emergency Medicine in his PGY2 after a change of heart. He completed his FRCPC EM residency at Queens University. He spent his final year in Boston to complete a Medical Simulation Fellowship at Harvard University - Massachusetts General Hospital, where the food was surprisingly suboptimal. Currently, he is doing his Medical Toxicology Fellowship at Regions Health Partners and Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota, where the food is excellent.
Amar's interests are in medical education - particularly accessibility to high resource tools like simulation, and crisis resource management in resuscitative settings, as well as medical toxicology and its intersections with the aforementioned points. Amar loves time outside, time with friends and family, and time to pause and reflect on really anything (a rather existential fellow). Say hello if you see him! Or more likely hear him, because apparently he is very loud.
