Dr. Swoboda moved to Kingston after medical school at Brown University, training in Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical center in Philadelphia and Medical Toxicology at the Toxikon Consortium in Chicago, and medical practice at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Medical Toxicology, and has experience practicing in the emergency department, running a multidisciplinary addiction medicine consult service and clinic, working for the Illinois Poison Center, and performing bedside toxicology consultations. Dr. Swoboda now works in the emergency department/urgent care at KHSC and for the Ontario Poison Center. He has a clinical focus on improving provision of care to patients with substance use disorders in the emergency department and inpatient settings.
